Vattenfall has a top three position in all of these markets, and together they account for around 98 per cent of our total cash flow.
Aside from Vattenfall’s three main markets, the UK is a growth market, primarily in wind power.
The focus on the main markets has entailed a review of operations outside these markets that are not aligned with the long-term objective to create environmentally sustainable energy production.
In 2011, a number of divestments or agreements on divestments were carried out.
The largest divestments were:
- Vattenfall’s operations in Poland comprising the subsidiary Gornoslaski Zaklad Electroenergetyczny (GZE) and Vattenfall Heat Poland (VHP).
- Parts of the Finnish operations (electricity distribution and district heating).
- Vattenfall’s gas production in the Netherlands, Nuon Exploration & Production B.V.
- Vattenfall’s operation in Belgium – Nuon Belgium NV, Nuon Wind Belgium BV and Nuon Power Generation Wallon BV.
