Vattenfall is one of Europe’s largest electricity generators and producer of heat and operates in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. Our strategy is to reduce emissions from power generation with a road map to achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
We are now looking for the right person to fill the position as Data Analyst within Business Area Wind Offshore.
Your job as Data Analyst
Analyze Adverse Weather (AW) data / Daily Progress Reports (DPR) data in order to identify critical path for projects in development and execution and improve the way of working.
  • Be visible and lead by example regarding HS&E
Procurement Phase:
  • To the extent required, participate at the technical contract negotiations and ensure that the Employer’s Requirements, Interface Documents and Conditions of Contract are developed into contract versions. 
  • Ensure that latest lessons learnt are taken into account
Planning Phase:
  • Support the M&A and development projects with simulation data as required
  • Setting up the AW / DPR tool together with installation managers to provide data to the construction team and schedulers to make sound decisions for the installation program
  • Contribute to “MT Construction Support” by defining AW / DPR scope and set strategy targets. Provide regular reports based on the obtained simulation / analysis results
Construction Phase:
  • Provide AW and DPR data input to the installation packages to ensure that projects achieve fast and safe installation cycles
  • Ensure that processes within the work package are standardized. Suggest and develop new procedures, checklists etc. where required
  • Setting up the AW / DPR tool together with installation managers to provide data to the construction team and schedulers to make sound decisions for the installation program
  • Constantly update and upgrade the AW / DPR tools to facilitate their use and accuracy. Furthermore, standardize the process for working with the tools
Continuous Project Management Responsibilities:
  • Manage that lessons learned are properly documented throughout the life of the project and included within the project close-out. Update the lessons learnt database and ensure that lessons learnt are shared and implemented within the organization
  • Constantly update and upgrade the AW / DPR tools in order to support decision processes and to facilitate their use and accuracy. Furthermore, standardize the process for working with the tools
  • Conduct scenario analysis, derive conclusions and prepare solution/mitigation proposals
  • Further development and definition of interfaces to other project functions
  • Train other colleagues in the use of the AW / DPR tools if required
Construction Support related Responsibilities:
  • Lead the recruitment process for external experts as well as student interns. Coordinate their day-to-day work
  • Other relevant ad-hoc development projects or duties as required by construction management
  • Participate in agreed personal development trainings, share the new knowledge within the team and make use of the new skills in the projects
  • Provide strategic input and support cross-project developments to improve Vattenfall’s construction management approach related to marine operations with the goal to make Vattenfall become leader in “Levelized Energy Costs” (LEC)
  • Liaise with the line management team organization, share knowledge and information, assist monitoring and trouble shooting and facilitate resource management
Your qualifications as Data Analyst
  • University degree in engineering, business administration, economics or logistics management
  • Knowledge and experience in using, assessing and evaluating modelling and simulation tools
  • Knowledge in large-scale energy and/or infrastructure projects
  • Work experience in manufacturing and plant engineering
  • Project management know-how
  • Experience in the wind power industry
  • At ease with large data and programming languages to create predictive and prescriptive models
  • Very good verbal & written communication and presentation skills in English
  • Strong MS office and IT skills (Matlab, Power BI, etc)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a team and to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Performance oriented, pro-active, strong analytical understanding and structured way of working
