Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position as Site Manager - DanTysk/Sandbank reporting to the Director of O&M Delivery Offshore in BA Wind. You will become a member of the O&M Delivery Offshore Management Team.
The O&M Delivery Offshore department is responsible for all O&M activities on our offshore wind farms in the countries we operate and focuses on operating our wind farms safe, efficient and professional.
As the site manager for DanTysk/Sandbank you have full responsibility for people, safety and performance of the DanTysk (80 x 3.6 MW) and Sandbank (72 x 4.0 MW) wind farms in the German North Sea, two offshore substations and the offshore accommodation platform. The two wind farms recently started to operate and a key challenge for this role is also to drive and encourage utilization of synergies between DanTysk/Sandbank and other Vattenfall wind farms.
Your key responsibilities
- Accountable for operations of the wind farm (financial, technical and HSE);
- Build and develop an efficient site organization of over 50 people;
- Build and sustain a positive safety culture;
- Optimize the operation and maintenance activities;
- Develop and execute the annual O&M plan;
- Implement Vattenfall’s O&M strategy and HSE systems;
- Build a strong cooperation with Vattenfall’s Operational Support and Engineering organization;
- Cooperate closely with Vattenfall’s Asset Management function;
- Maintain a good relation with the co-owner together with the joint venture manager;
- Report and cooperation with the German authorities;
- Manage suppliers and contractors and follow up on contracts;
What we are looking for
You have a university degree (or equal) with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, preferably including experience in a wind operations and maintenance environment. You are a highly motivated and communicative leader who is able to focus on both people and business. You are proven skilled in dealing with strategic, highly complex issues, problems and challenges. Health and safety is of highest priority. Your command of English is strong, both verbally and written.
You can work independently across all levels of the organization and at the same time need to be a cooperative colleague, where you will demonstrate good communication skills, drive and an open and honest mind-set.
You take responsibility and provide transparency. When needed, you are able to make quick decisions in difficult circumstances and are capable of handling many tasks at the same time. You are flexible and can with adjust to changing circumstances. You value differences in background and culture.
As operations of the two wind farms is run out of Esbjerg (DK) and the administration is mainly performed in Hamburg (GE), you will need flexible and divide your time between both locations. Beside that traveling will be necessary in a limited amount from time to time.

Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like solar PV and batteries. Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our solar PV and battery operations further.
