Vattenfall is operating and maintaining a large number of wind turbines, in the five countries where we have activities. For the cluster of Danish West Coast, which includes Horns Ref 1, soon Horns Ref 3 and later also Danish Near Shore are we looking for a Site Manager to run Horns Ref 3.
The job as Site Manager
The Horns Ref 3 site manager has the P&L responsibility for the entire windfarm Horns Ref 3. The department runs the Wind Farm on behalf of Vattenfall Vindkraft A/S with the full responsibility for the operation of the Wind Farm in line with Vattenfalls Operating Model and strategies. An important part of the responsibility is the management of the personnel on the site, who can be both internal employees and personnel from external contractors.
Horns Ref 3 will be part of the Danish West Coast cluster, which will consist of both old and new windfarms and where there besides Horns Ref 3 also will be the two new sites in the Danish Near Shore project. The site manager will have a significant role in the cluster management and in harvesting the benefits from being a part of a bigger cluster.
The Wind Turbine area in Vattenfall is developing very fast at the moment with many exiting projects and large investments in the coming years, which again means new challenges for the department. One key challenge for this role is to drive the process of finding and utilizing the synergies between Horns Ref 1 + 3 and other internal and external Wind Farms in the area.
Primary responsibilities as a Site Manager:
• Responsible for operation and maintenance of the Wind Farm
• Having the responsibility for the personal employed in the Wind Farm
• Responsible for the relationship to possibly investors and partners
• Responsible for the reporting to, and cooperation with the Danish authorities
• Responsible for the budget process and for the economical follow up.
• Responsible for optimization of operations and maintenance
• Contact to suppliers and contractors and follow up on contracts
• Responsible for switching on the medium and high voltage grid
Qualifications as a Site Manager:
You must have an education as an economist, engineer or the equivalent, and you must have the interests for working with management of big technical plants and have a good economical knowledge.
People leadership are essential, as an important part of this role is to build up the joint organization for the two wind farms.
It is an advantage if you have experience from the wind turbine business as well as experience with operation and maintenance of technical installations.
You speak and write Danish and English and you have excellent IT skills.
Personal qualifications
You will play a key role and will have a large personal interface in the organization. It is therefore a requirement that you can work independently across levels and borders, at the same time as you are the leader of a team. You have good communication skills and drive, and you are open and outgoing. You are responsible and are capable of working targeted. When necessary, you are able to make quick decisions in difficult circumstances, and you are capable of handling many tasks at the same time. You are very flexible and can with ease adjust to changing circumstances, and you appreciate differences and understands how background, culture and group affiliation can affect oneself and others.
As the operations of the Wind Farm potentially are run out of both Esbjerg and Hvide Sande and the administration are handled in Esbjerg, the new site manager has to be flexible and divide the working hours between the mentioned locations. Besides that traveling will be necessary in a limited amount from time to time.
