A sustainable world with clean energy for everyone – that's your mission. And if it's about the future of energy, you think global. Every day we work in ambitious teams towards a better society and we try to make a real difference by developing sustainable energy. Do you have the necessary knowledge of the energy sector and your own ideas in this field? Take up the challenge. Discover what Vattenfall's International Trainee Programme can offer you.
A kickstart at Vattenfall
Here at Vattenfall, a European market leader in the energy sector, we are working with over 20,000 employees on the transition to the generation of sustainable energy. As an international trainee, you will have the opportunity to develop your professional and personal skills, both in a national and international context over the course of a year. We will train you and prepare you for your future challenges. If you're looking to work as an energy specialist, an innovative manager or project lead in the energy sector, then Vattenfall is the place for you.
Our international trainee programme offers about 20 trainee positions divided over different locations in the Vattenfall countries. The programme runs for twelve months and starts in September every other year. The next programme starts in September 2017. Each trainee position is linked to a department within a business area and a location. Therefore, each position has its own specific responsibilities and challenges. You will work with your colleagues at local and international level on a daily basis – both in your trainee position and during two assignments (one 4-week assignment and one 8-week assignment). During the assignments you will get to know other business areas within Vattenfall, both national and international. Since your development is important to us, you will choose these assignments yourself.
Personal Development Plan
Next to the pre-defined trainee programme you will take part in international workshops during the seminar weeks. During these weeks the focus will be on your chosen development path and our core values. A number of site visits, for example power plants and wind farms, with your fellow trainees are also part of the programme. This will allow you to familiarise yourself with the different cultures within Vattenfall.
Discover your talents
During the course of the trainee programme we will offer you the support you need, because we are passionate about sharing as much knowledge as we can. A line manager and former trainees will be there to assist you on an individual basis. They will help you identify where your talents can best be deployed, so you can prepare yourself well for your international career.
Are you our next trainee?
We are looking for you if you will graduate before September 2017. You have a maximum of one year of work experience and you are fluent in business English, both in writing and speaking. In some positions local language skills are required. If that is the case, it will be specified in the job description. Furthermore, skills in other world languages can also be a merit.
The general job description makes it clear that regular travel is part of the job. In addition, you must be prepared to relocate (temporarily) for the trainee position or for one of the assignments. Please note that in our selection an important aspect is the explanation and motivation on the choices you have made in your life so far.
What will you get in return?
Each position comes with a competitive salary and an excellent remuneration package. Of course we offer you plenty of opportunities for your development. Once you've completed the programme, you will get a lot of options to further develop yourself within the company. More than 60% of all former international trainees are still working for Vattenfall.
How do you apply?
