  • The international Climate Week starts today in New York. Vattenfall is one of ten international companies that join forces in an initiative called EV100 to push for the transition to electric vehicles.

  • Stefan Dohler joined Vattenfall in 1998 and has served as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer since December 2016. Before that he held a number of senior management positions at Vattenfall. Stefan Dohler will become the new CEO of EWE AG, one of the largest regional utilities in Germany.

  • Mårten Görnerup has been appointed CEO of the newly established joint venture company HYBRIT Development AB. He joins HYBRIT from Metsol, a technical consultancy firm in the steel sector, where he was CEO. Mårten has a background in metallurgy research.

  • In its strategic transformation process Vattenfall has identified a need to increase efficiency in staff and support services. A program with an ambition of a SEK 2 billion cost reduction target for these areas by 2020 has been decided.

  • The offshore wind farm Sandbank with an installed capacity of 288 megawatt (MW) is now officially inaugurated. It is the latest cooperation between Vattenfall and Stadtwerke München (SWM) and the 72 wind energy plants will provide 400,000 German households with renewable energy.
