E-mobility news: Hamburg project 'Wirtschaft am Strom' preparing for kick-off

The Hamburg E-mobility project "Wirtschaft am Strom" (WAS) is currently preparing for project kick-off. The project is a follow-up activity of previous model region activities in Germany.

Within the WAS project, Vattenfall will focus on further technical development and optimising of Vattenfall's existing charging infrastructure as well as future charging solutions.

Vattenfall is a project partner and responsible for work package 4 "Charge and Store". Within this work package, Vattenfall R&D Projects will provide solutions for inductive and fast charging.

The first fast charging station in HafenCity in Hamburg will be operable in November this year. Later on R&D Projects will install a battery storage integrated with the fast charging station.

At present R&D Projects is performing a market survey to find a suitable partner for inductive (wireless) charging solutions that Vattenfall will integrate in the company’s existing E-mobility platform.
