A fire broke out today in Vattenfall’s Combined Heat and Power plant (CHP) Siekierki in Poland, and lasted for more than an hour. The energy supply to Warsaw was not affected.
The fire started at 10.45, when an oil tank caught fire, and it spread in the CHP, but at 12.00 the fire was extinguished and the situation soon came under control.
No person was seriously injured. The plant has now gone back to normal operation.
