It starts on Thursday, 24 May. The Vattenfall Pure Energy Challenge is an online car race that starts in one of the main cities in Vattenfall’s markets and then takes you to Lisbon, Athens, Minsk and back again. Configure your car right, race hard and you may bring home one of the prizes.
Vattenfall’s Stijn Rohof is responsible for the Pure Energy Challenge and explains that anyone can take part.
"You can start from Berlin, Amsterdam or Stockholm. The race then leads through Europe with configuration stops in Lisbon, Athens and Minsk. At the start and at the pit stops you can configure the car in relation to the weather forecast. If it rains, hydropower is the best choice. If the sun is expected to shine you should choose solar power and if the forecast is windy, try wind power. This is all about strategy and speed."
The challenge runs until 19 July and one lap is expected to take around two weeks. The top three racers will win an iPad 3, and solar panels will be awarded to drivers in positions four to ten.
