Vattenfall reviews UK wind portfolio to meet increased challenges

To meet our challenges and to demonstrate our long term commitment to the UK as a key market for wind power, we are reviewing our investment portfolio to find the right balance between the many onshore and offshore wind projects to ensure high quality through top performance.

Vattenfall has recently been awarded the challenge to develop the East Anglia zone in the UK in partnership with Scottish Power Renewables. This wind project has the potential of 7 200 MW and clean electricity to 4 million homes. Vattenfall is the proud owner of the Kentish Flats wind farm. We are also constructing the Thanet Offshore Wind Farm and the Ormonde Wind Farm and are developing a number of onshore wind projects around the UK. In all, Vattenfall is currently constructing eight wind farms in six countries. This will double our electricity generation from wind from 2009 to 2011 and represent investments of €2 billion.
