Vattenfall finalises sale of Nuon Deutschland

Vattenfall has finalised the sale of energy supply company Nuon Deutschland GmbH to ENERVIE - Südwestfalen Energie und Wasser AG (formerly known as SEWAG).

Vattenfall AB acquired 49 per cent of the shares in the Dutch energy company N.V. Nuon Energy on 1 July 2009 and gained operational control of Nuon at the same time. The European Commission approved this acquisition with the condition that Vattenfall divested all its shares in Nuon Deutschland GmbH. Vattenfall consequently started looking for a buyer in August 2009, and the sale is now finalised.

Final contracts have been signed on 18 March 2010, with retrospective effect from 1 January 2010.

Vattenfall discloses the information provided herein pursuant to the Swedish Securities Market Act.
