Statement on slavery and human trafficking

Protecting human rights is important for us and our stakeholders.

We have explicitly stated our commitment to respecting human rights in our Group-wide Sustainability Policy, Code of Conduct, Code of Conduct for Suppliers, and in our statement on slavery and human rights (in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act).

Human rights was an area of focus for Vattenfall in 2016, and during the year we took a number of measures to strengthen human rights protections throughout the value chain. We have emphasised the importance of human rights considerations in our supply chain by strengthening our due diligence procedures and revising the Code of Conduct for Suppliers. We also commissioned an independent third party to conduct a screening of human rights impacts throughout our value chain and to identify the most significant risks in our business.

Additionally, we have prepared a statement on slavery and human rights in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act which contains more details on our actions, with a focus on the supply chain.
